Letter #2 Continued: Submitted 9-15-98
 |
Despite the fact that two other
Northwestern physicians wrote excellent letters of recommendation for me, Stalzer's
letter was given credence by the Mayo Clinic because he is
an alumnus of the Mayo Graduate Program. After receiving Stalzer's letter, Dr. R. Drew
Miller, the Director of Thoracic Disease Training Program, contacted him by phone.
Exactly what Stalzer said to Miller about me remains a mystery to me, but it certainly was
derogatory. I was treated poorly from the day I started work at the Mayo Clinic as a direct
result of Dr. Stalzer's communications about me to the Mayo Clinic.
Proof of this can be seen in Dr. Norman Hepper's letter of
recommendation for me to Dr. Sheldon Waldstein at Northwestern.
